Installing KēZ doesn’t require a mechanic or complicated tools. The system was designed from the ground up to be user-friendly, safe, and compatible with most vehicle systems.
What You’ll Need:
- KēZ installation kit (includes smart relay and adapter)
- Compatible vehicle (check our Vehicle Selector)
- Smartphone with the KēZ mobile app installed
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Locate Your Fuse Box: It is typically located under the dash or in the hood. Refer to your manual to locate the starter relay.
- Remove and Replace the Relay: Pull the starter relay and insert the KēZ smart relay in its place. Make sure it’s seated firmly.
- Plug in the OBD-II Adapter: This port is usually located under the dashboard near the steering wheel. Connect the KēZ adapter.
- Pair with the App: Open the KēZ app, follow the pairing instructions, and link your smartphone to the system.
- Test Functionality: Arm the system, attempt a start without your phone, and confirm that the immobilizer activates.
Tips for Success:
- Use gloves if working near the engine compartment.
- Label your original relay for future reference.
- Run the system test with the car in park and the hood open.
